EVB Engineering was retained by the Town of Prescott to complete the detailed design, tendering and construction administration for the reconstruction of Linda Street, between Boundary Street and Duke Street for a total length of 170 m as well a 75 m road on Linda Court which intersects with Linda Street within the Town of Prescott.

This project consisted of full reconstruction of the existing underground and aboveground infrastructure, namely watermain, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, laterals and services to property line, sidewalks, curbs, granulars and asphalt.
Challenges related to this project included the lack of any “as-built” drawings due to the advanced age of the infrastructure, the inaccessibility of the existing sanitary and storm sewers due to the lack of sanitary and storm maintenance holes and condition of the existing sewers, and in developing a desirable cross-section and grading for Linda Court to reflect the existing grassed median and significant grade differentials within the right-of-way.
The quality of the drawings and specifications allowed for a minimum number of questions during the tender period, competitive bidding between the lowest bidders, and very few extras during construction.
The project was completed on time and well under budget. More specifically, the project was completed for approximately 88% of the ‘total tendered amount’, and Change Orders represented less than 2% of said amount.
